I am sorry for taking the discussion in the middle that way, but couldn't this project be implemented as a part of the pango project ? I'm thinking about doing a new render (beside of the existing X11 and win). I know that pango as a bunch of dependencies, but I think that it could be better to trim this list of dependencies than dupplicating the effort. That's only my 2 cents (of euro, of course), since I do not really know if this issue was already discussed, and what exactly the goals of your project are. I'm not even sure of what pango does, when I think again about it. :) Thanks, Mt. -- The "US department of defense" should be renamed the "US department of attack".
