Ok, I've caught up and figured out the problem. I've (hopefully) fixed the DDTP import process so at least normal descriptions should be coming back. You can see on this page that the wheezy translation is now from february: http://ddtp.debian.net/ddt.cgi?desc_id=8 It will take some time to propagate through the system. I have to go to work now, but I'll cleanup the DDTP and DDTSS databases this evening. Whether this means everything will immediately work I don't know, but we can but try.
