For the record, there were 34 processes stuck in D state, mostly exim4 commands, but a number of others as well. > I'm just going to reboot the machine and see if that fixes it... I triggered it with the magic sysrq since after a kernel panic I couldn't really trust it would actually complete shutdown. It's come back up and everything seems to be normal.
