Strange thing! When installing a fresh Sarge system, not selecting anything in tasksel/aptitude/dselect, and only installing the gnome-desktop-environment metapackage, nautilus is starting fine. But if you perform the same installation but choosing the gnome metapackage rather than gnome-desktop-environment, nautilus crashes!
