In case you're also annoyed by the fact that the Xprt daemon from Debian/testing and Debian/unstable crash right at startup: the package which is sitting in "experimental" builds and works just fine for ia64, but there doesn't appear to be a pre-built package for ia64 yet. In case anyone else cares for it, give a holler and I can put it up for ftp some place.
