I used the sarge version, and it worked! (well, mostly). I had to copy libgcc_s.so.1 from an x86 box & use LD_LIBRARY_PATH to use it. Also, I had to downgrade all of my Arch:all OOo packages to the sarge version, otherwise the setup script fails.
