btw, I wonder if the driver you actually need is cciss.ko? cpqarray is
for some very old devices - any modern Smart Array uses cciss. cciss
was missing from early 2.6.22s but is available in latest lenny/sid.

Yes, the system does really need cpqarray. I tried cciss and nothing happens.

It's an old Compaq DL590/64.
