I tried adding this to my local bind zone : @ IN AAAA ::1 @ IN A6 ::1
when I reloaded the zones, however, this was in the logfile : named[32616]: dns_rdata_fromtext: /etc/bind/db.local:15: near '::1': unexpected token Does bind9 (in woody) understand IPv6 addresses? Do I need to do something special to make it serve these addresses? On a more positive note, I just realized that my exim4 build (not yet packaged for debian) didn't understand v6 addresses. I looked in the exim docs and found that I needed HAVE_IPV6=yes in my Makefile. I set it and it worked like a charm! I didn't need to specify any extra includes or libs. That was a pleasant experience :-).
