Well hounestly I would avoid anything that needs patches if possible. I did have an ircd on my archive for a few days but we had to remove it for several reasons. The patch was not good enough (several problems with Kline and Dline ?? if i remember correctly) and it was not possible to compile on 64 bit archs.
