i. What is the current 6BONE setup
a large list of experimenters. see http://www.6bone.net
and the way it handles IPv6 traffic on existing Internet architecture?
some of the 6bone is made of IPv6 over Ipv4 (internet) tunnels. Some are native Ipv6 tunnels
ii. Over time, as confidence builds to allow production routers to carry native IPv6 packets, it is expected that the 6BONE would disappear by agreement of all parties. Is this statement true or false? Can u please explain?
there are two IPv6 networks:
- 6bone: experimental. set to fade on the 6/6/2006. minimal work these days.
uses the 3ffe:: address space.
- production IPv6 internet, made by providers who receive their prefixes from registry. currently uses 2001:: address space.
iii. Do you see any potential in 6BONE that can attract business community?
6bone not. production ipv6 internet: already!
