| i didn't know this stuff, and it is really helpful ! Thanks to that | i saw that nslookup was querrying A entries, so as said in another | mail of this thread, i used host -t aaaa and it works just fine :) | You can also set the query type with nslookup, like
$ nslookup -q=aaaa www.kame.net Server: 127.0.0.1 Address: 127.0.0.1#53
Non-authoritative answer: www.kame.net has AAAA address 2001:200:0:8002:203:47ff:fea5:3085
Authoritative answers can be found from: kame.net nameserver = ns1.itojun.org. kame.net nameserver = orange.kame.net. ns1.itojun.org internet address = 202.232.15.92 ns1.itojun.org has AAAA address 2001:240:501:0:206:29ff:fe8f:b201 ns1.itojun.org has AAAA address 2001:240:501:1:2ae:d0ff:fe00:3b ns1.itojun.org has AAAA address 2001:240:501:2:240:26ff:fec0:ae56 orange.kame.net internet address = 203.178.141.194 orange.kame.net has AAAA address 2001:200:0:8002:203:47ff:fea5:3085
...but from what I've heard, `host` is the preferred way to look up IPs, instead of nslookup.
