qtype ANY + dns

Hi

I got a small doubt regarding query type.
Is the query-type ANY and  * are same. As per
bind9 coding the value for qtype ANY  is 255 & also
its same value for qtype * as per RFC 1035.
But the RFC 1035 does not speak about qtype ANY....
Please comment..
