Dear all, I am interested in NFS over IPv6 under debian.
The latest version of nfs-kernel-server in Sid is 1.2.2-4. As I understand it, we need at least version 1.2.3 for the IPv6 support, plus a relatively recent kernel. Are there any packages available currently? I checked experimental but with no luck. A friend and I managed to mount an NFS file system over IPv6 by exporting it from one Fedora box to another. (The latest Fedora release has nfs-utils 1.2.3, which seems to be equivalent to nfs-kernel-server in Debian.) The main problem that we discovered is that exportfs(8) didn't accept IPv6 addresses at least in any of the syntaxes that we tried, and it isn't documented in the manual page. Is it possible to specify an IPv6 subnet in either exportfs or /etc/exports? As I remember, we also need rpcbind, which is packaged in Debian. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
