User-Agent: Mutt/1.0.1i Hello I am behind a socks firewall and I need to be able to get past it. I put the following line in my /etc/socks.conf file: sockd @socks.domain.com 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 direct 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Where domain.com is "changed to protect the innocent." I tested the configuration by trying to do a ssh and a rtelnet to a host outside the firewall. Neither worked. I'm not sure the ssh client will work anyway, but the rtelent should have worked. For what it matters, I can apt-get using proxy.domain.com and I can use socks.domain.com with windows clients ok.
