On a pretty loaded system with a 3ware 74xx series card, we're getting: # hdparm -tT /dev/sda3
/dev/sda3: Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.65 seconds =196.92 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.44 seconds = 44.44 MB/sec This seems to be more in-line with expectations.
