Folks, I have used dpkg, and been forced to use rpm, and rpm is just as good, more or less.
The problem is that there is nothing equivalent to dselect or apt in RedHat. I rarely call dpkg directly, unless libc6 is stuck again ;-), but the nearest that RedHat has to a mid-level tool is GnoRPM, which wants gnome, which wants X, which is moving in the wrong direction for my firewall/mail server. -- Ghane ----- Original Message ----- From: Wichert Akkerman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Can we please not be so negative about rpm?
