I quite like mpkg-j2sdk[1]. It's not in the official Debian archive, but it does it's job fairly well IMHO. Description: Debian Java 2 SDK build script This package contains a script to create a debian J2SDK package from a downloaded binary J2SDK archive. . This script works with J2SDK 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 from Sun Microsystems, J2SDK 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 from Blackdown and J2SDK 1.3.1 and 1.4.0 from IBM.
