Hi All, ho compilato il kernel 2.2.14 per un computer portatile (Compaq Areo 4/33) ed e' la sesta volta che ricevo il seguente errore:
[...] hda: ST9190Ag,ATA DISK drive ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14 Partition check: request_module[ide-disk]: Root fs not mounted hda: driver not present VFS: Cannon open root device 03:02 Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:02 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Ho fatto attenzione, durante la configurazione del kernel, a settare tutto quello che ritenevo utile, e i dubbi che ho, riguardano i seguenti punti del config: ## Loadable module support # #CONFIG_MODULES=y # CONFIG_MODVERSIONS is not set # CONFIG_KMOD=y # [...] # ## Block devices # ## CONFIG_BLK_DEV_FD is not set # CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE is not set # CONFIG_BLK_DEV_HD_ONLY=y ma ho provato le diverse combinazione (y,m,n) ma ottengo sempre lo stesso errore. Dato che per compilare il kernel ogni volta ci sto piu' di un'ora (su un computer con processore Amd X5 486/133 con 48 MB Ram), volevo chiedervi se potevate darmi delle dritte... Per compilare il kernel da installare sul portatile uso make-kpkg che mi permette di ottenere un kernel compilato e pronto all'uso (dato che il portatile impiegherebbe ore e ore a compilare).
