Premetto che non l'ho mai usato direttamente, pero' cito da man ulimit: "DESCRIPTION The ulimit utility shall set or report the file-size writing limit imposed on files written by the shell and its child processes " da questo capisco che ulimit agira' sulla shell del chiamante (e quindi sui processi a lui appartenenti), ergo, se inserito in ogni ~/.bashrc dovrebbe fare al caso suo.
