Ho trovato una segnalazione su Ubuntu che forse aderisce al tuo caso: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/partimage/+bug/120497 ma non dovrebbe verificarsi se lo lanci, come faccio io, come root a partire da una live CD.
