I was going to try that package to see what happens here, but it doesn't seem to be in Debian, I'm running unstable/experimental. My problems with SCIM weren't so much that it made things die totally, although it sometimes did, it was more that input was totally fudged with some applications. For example when typing Japanese into kopete using things like exclamation marks and question marks either wouldn't show up or deleted the entire section of text being inputted. Most applications worked fine however. In my experience if you use the "off the spot" method to display what you're inputing there are less issues with applications crashing or acting strangely. But it doesn't look very nice. ;) Cheers, Daniel -- Daniel Palmer [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
