I agree that having those bugs marked as RC really hurts, but that's understandable. A minified JavaScript file is similar to a compiled class, it's not meant to be easily modified.
There is a libjs-jquery package available that may be used as a replacement for these embedded js libraries. I'm not sure the versions are compatible though.
