SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - Location (Toronto West)
CPNI Inc. is a technology startup firm which provides application software
and associated services to the financial industry, with a focus on Mobile
Payments. Our technology is network-aware and has server and mobile phone
components. Our flagship product facilitates money transfer services over
the telephone, in a secured manner, and from anywhere in the world.
CPNI is currently seeking an individual to fill the role of Systems
Administrator. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the
development of CPNI's operations facilities.
AVAILABLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design, implementation, and maintenance of the following:
o Internal Ethernet-based networks (as well as the design,
implementation, and maintenance of a wireless network)
o Linux servers (file/print, web application, etc.)
o Developer workstations (Windows and Linux)
o Developer support systems
o Internet networks and services
o Web-based services (internal and customer-facing)
o Windows desktop and laptops
o A small Storage Area Network (SAN)
o Monitoring and reporting tools
o Various database systems
* All purchasing-related activities, including product evaluation,
quote generation, purchase order generation, and follow-up
* General documentation and reporting
* Light coding
* Miscellaneous systems- and network-related duties
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Strong system administration experience with Solaris, AIX, Red Hat
Linux, or Debian GNU/Linux
* Experience in using interpreted languages (BASH/Python/PERL/etc.)
* Experience with networking hardware and software, particularly
switches and firewalls
* Familiar with SQL databases in general; MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, and
Oracle in particular
* Experience defining and implementing best practices
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Cool under fire
