Hello, I was looking at the possibility of compiling a distribution for special needs children as I cannot find any distributions specifically targeting them. I was wanting to base this on a fork of Debian Jr. as you have done an amazing job curating a distro for children, just building on top to do the special needs portion for non-verbal, limited verbal, and children with fine and gross motor skill deficiencies.
I know your project is open source, but I just wanted to get official permission before forking, and if you know of anyone that would like to collaborate, that would be awesome. My reason for doing this is my 7 year old son who has Down Syndrome and is on the Autism Spectrum. He is what would be classified as limited verbal, and certainly has fine motor deficiencies.
