Hehehe. I believe kmail uses crypt to store the password. While crypt is considered insecure I wouldn't suggest cracking the password, it could take a week depending on the computer. How about instead changing the pop server to localhost and monitoring communication? kmail must send the password unencrypted. I think apache logs all communication if you tell it to. Corrin
