I don't think this has to do with how it's being packaged for Debian, but whenever you close a window by double-clicking the top-left titlebar button and there's a desktop icon behind the button, a single click event is triggered for that icon. For anyone used to using this close method, the accidental opens are a bit of a nuisance.
