It sounds like Robert didn't do apt-get update, or for some reason it wasn't up to date. The first time I tried to downgrade, it also told me a few kde-dev packages were to be removed, but I canceled it and told it to downgrade *all* these packages: libqt2 libqt2-gl libqt2-mt libqt-dev libqutil1.
