I answered my own question in my last E-Mail. I moved /usr/local/qt and /usr/local/kde to /usr/local/bad and the problem fixed itself!
If I'd just spend a bit more time looking at strace, I'd have seen where it
was using /usr/local/qt and /usr/local/kde
Running lld /usr/bin/kmail made this a bit more obvious. Thanks to everyone
