In contrast to the other two people's experience, it seems much faster to me. Konq starts up in about a second, same with kmail, konsole, etc. KControl, which used to take 5~10 seconds, now pops up almost instantly. Browseing in konq is a dream, with /. appearing almost as fast a I click on the link. Basically, it is far and away better than 2.2.2, for me. I do have a ton of fonts, which probably is unusual (i.e., >500), so that might have slowed 2.2.2 down. Oh, and I just "downgraded" from running cvs HEAD to the unofficial debs, and the debs run *faster* than my self-compiled ones. Probably has to do with not having --enable-debug=full on everything ;-) HTH and HAND! - -- D.A.Bishop -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE89TwbEHLN/FXAbC0RAjlHAKCLG9ooSdl7DMVRH2WuCIUiH5yCgQCgwRSX 9365UCvY4WAMSZSi60MyxQA= =uWb3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
