After the update from KDE2 to KDE3 on woody I had the same problem. I removed the x at "Run soundserver with realtime priority" in KDE control center -> Sound -> Soundserver an it was ok. Bye, Hermann -- registrierter Linux-User #260646 auf Debian GNU/Linux Woody 2.4.18
