Same here. KMail shows that there are new messages, but "+" does not jump to a new one, and if I search the folder "manually" I can see, that there are no new messages.
Restarting KMail usually fixes the problem, but it seems that the kio_imap slaves are the ones which have to be restarted. > Very weird.
