I'm running debian sarge with kde 3.1 stable downloaded from kde.org.
It turns out I can not make kio_audiocd work.

1. apt-get install kdemultimedia-kio-plugins

Done! but that still didn't fix it

2. Make sure you have the proper rights on your device(s).

here's what I've got
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/cdrom lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Mar 20 00:37 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/hdc

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/hdc
brw-rw----    1 root     cdrom     22,   0 Mar 14  2002 /dev/hdc

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ groups
vortex disk cdrom audio

I did a slocate kio_audiocd and came up with this
/usr/lib/kde3/kio_audiocd.la
/usr/lib/kde3/kio_audiocd.so

-rw-r-xr-x  1 root root 1155  Mar 14 09:01 /usr/lib/kde3/kio_audiocd.la
-rw-r-xr-x  1 root root 64280 Mar 14 09:17 /usr/lib/kde3/kio_audiocd.so

Where does audiocd:/ looks for the cd?
