If you have installed kde 3, you have installed kdelibs4, so you can't install kdelibs3 without broking everything. My suggestion, is to install kmess (is very nice). In it's latest version, there is a debian package, but it's for debian unstable. http://kmess.sf.net I'm trying to compile myself a debian package for woody + kde updates, but I'm still having some problems, and I'm yet dealing with them.
