What display manager are you using? If you're using KDM, start with /etc/kde3/kdm/Xsession, which just invokes /etc/X11/Xsession, which runs /etc/X11/Xsession.d/30xfree86-common_xresources. I think if you generate output from those scripts, i.e., by adding "echo", it goes to .xsession-errors in your home directory. Bjorn
