RE: KDE and libart-2.0-2

My understanding is that KDE 3.2 is still in unstable, 3.1 testing and 2.2 
in Stable. How you got 3.2 on a stable system is a bit weird. (But then I've 
never used deselect).

LIBART-2.0-2 and LIBPNG3 is available in all however.  So best bet might be 
to
apt-cache update
apt-get install libart-2.0-2 libpng3

I assume that you are updating off a internet mirror (KDE 3.2 can't be on 
the woody disks).  If the apt-get install says it can't find the packages 
run the apt-setup (or edit the sources by hand) and choose a different 
mirror. (something usefull is maybe  a cat of /etc/apt/sources.list)

Of course if you are really now in unstable you should perform an
apt-get dist-upgrade
But you should really consider if you want to be running in unstable first.
Be warned though I am a young hand in debian

Hi:
I have installed Debian 3.0 rev2. Everything seemed ok. As default the 
system comes with KDE 2.2.2. I just want to upgrade to KDE 3.2.1. My 
problems comes when using DSELECT to upgrade to KDE 3.2.1 the system says 
that LIBART-2.0-2 and LIBPNG3 are not installable. If KDE 3.2.1 is stable 
why there are such libraries not available??? Where can i get them??? How 
to install them??? If DSELECT can no find a library how to work around 
that???
