Yes, kind of. My k3b will do all sorts of weird things.
Usually the splash screen goes away eventually, but takes quit a while, at a guess up to about 1 minute. Then I get some weird errors. The problem is, I can not reproduce it successfully, it is random. When it works it works great. One thing I found yesterday, was that having a mounted cd really upset it on startup.
