Apologies for not framing question accurately. 'wall' is a *NIX command used to post messages to screens of all logged-in users. It is commonly used to notify all current users of eminent shutdowns.
I need a means to also notify users running KDE. I am not sure how this can be enabled in KDE or perhaps in X. XOSD, if it is applicable, would be overkill. Thanks raja Wolfgang Mader wrote: > I do not know if I have catched your problem at all but if you want to do > something like on screen display you should take a lock at XOSD > (http://www.ignavus.net/software.html) > > On Sunday 27 June 2004 10:56, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > >>GUI newbie here. >> >>Looking for a means to have walled messages appear on KDE desktops ( or >>should be handled in X ? ) >> >>Thanks. > > >
