It's OK, at least you've confirmed what I suspected all along.  It works fine 
with a default system with a generic audio card and the standard KDE audio 
server, but if you're a Linux music hacker with a special music hacker 
environment, you're on your own.

Sigh.  Oh well, it's probably really not worth the bother, except for the sake 
of having my way with the @[EMAIL PROTECTED] machine.  I hate being thwarted.
