Since I plugged the new DVD-RW burner in my PC, KDE showed it as a hard-disk. It'not just an aesthetic issue, since each KDE app (such as the Kicker applet "Storage devices") deals with the burner as with a HD, while the DVD-ROM player is regularly shown. Here are some more infos:
