Thank you Matej. I tried it the KDE way, and it worked first time.
However, when you have a choice of two, as I suppose you do, do you have to go

Then there is KDE-way. Go to Control Center/Regional & Accessibility/Keyboard Layout and switch on keyboard layouts and then set up your keyboard as you wish. Best, Mat?j
