I think it is, additionally, possible to select KDE as the session type from GDM and it will remember that on a per-user basis. Btw, there have beend rumors on the German Linux website pro-linux,de that the tasksel Desktop task on Etch does no longer install KDE or slightly different, that it is no longer possible to log into KDE from GDM Cheers, Kevin
