I did not try to compile Qt4, but I compile KDE4 from svn regularly. You don't need to compile Qt4 yourself for that. Just use the Qt4 packages from unstable (you need to compile the -dev packages of course). (I only compile kdelibs, kdepimlibs and kdebase. Konqueror, Kate and Konsole work quite well, but they basically look like the KDE3 versions.
