1. My X crashed too, since I installed KDE 4.3. 2. After a certain period of time, all apps didn't respond for 10sec. Than worked normal, than stopped again for 10sec.
I downgraded to XORG 7.3. (from testing release) and both problems disappeared. Seems like some kind of weird coincidence or not.
