If you check my user string, I am using Gmail's interface in Iceweasel with It's All Text & GVim with ft=mail. That is due to the fact that nothing scales as well for GiB of mail like Gmail. Sad, but true. For private & work mail, I use KMail from KDE 3 & 4 plus pine. Dunno if the metric mail client is a very good one to use as mail is a medium many people used before ever getting in touch with KDE.
