As it was pointed out already, they were part of the same tarball until some point (it was the same for other programs released by KDE). The last bits of that tarball were split with the release of KDE Applications 16.12: https://community.kde.org/Applications/16.12_Release_Notes#Tarballs_that_we_have_split In order to not break the upgrades, the metapackage is still in place. It will disappear in some cycles. -- Luigi
