Package: initrd-tools
Version: 0.1.70
Severity: important

On powerpc/pegasos, when creating a initrd from the
kernel-image-2.6.6-powerpc kernel image, mkinitrd fails to make the
initrd load the via8cxxx module. The initrd is thus unable to mount the
filesystem, since there are no ide drivers, and makes the resulting
system totally unusable.

Adding via82cxxx to /etc/mkinitrd/modules solve this, but this is no
acceptable solution in the case of the kernel-image package, which will
probably pull in the mkinitrd at install time, and thus not let the user
add this module.

This bug should probably be RC, but pegasos is only a minor subarch, so
...

Friendly,

Sven Luther
