Hello, I built 2.4.26-5, and now I can again boot fine. I think you can close this bug (I don't do this because I don't know if there is anything additional you want to do, e.g., noting it down somewhere or similar).
Just from curiosity: What was the difference in the two kernels I
tried? They both worked, but still *somthing* must have been
different.
