Hi, I am wondering what the reaction to uploading a p4-smp kernel for kernel-image-2.4.26-i386 would be. This would allow hyperthreading to be enabled on p4 processors that support it. I can also supply a suitable patch to debian-installer if there is interest, though that is a) probably too late and b) orthogonal.
The only change to 686-smp that I enviage would be to change the Processor Family to p4. I would probably provide an p4 (non-smp) image as well for completeness. This could all be done for 2.4.26-6. Objections? -- Horms
