Hi John, I have had a closer look into this problem. Unfortunately I am unable to reprocude it on any of the PIIX hardware that I have, so I am guessing it is specific to a subset of the chips out there. I believe that ChangeSet 1.1438.1.19 by Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz may be of interest to you as it reportedly resolves some DMA setup problems on PIIX. This change was included in 2.4.26-6 as it also related to some SATA updates that were made for that release. (I do not believe this change is in the 2.4.27 kernel on d.o at this time.) Could you please see if this kernel resolves your problem, as I mentioned, I do not have hardware that exhibits this problem. -- Horms
