Hi again, sorry, I've been a bit busy with real life and hadn't seen your answer before.
I've just tried to add sata_promise to /etc/mkinitrd/modules as you said and it solved well the problem. Good for me but why is it no more auto- detected ? I' also tried with the previous initrd-tools and I had the exact same problem so it's not initrd-tools but perhaps a change in the debian kernel (both a debian 2.6.7 and a custom vanilla 2.6.8.1 worked fine with previous initrd-tools). regards -- aurelien pour me repondre, enlevez le _NOSPAM_ to reply, remove the _NOSPAM_
